February 2009 - two significant developments...

1. What is available, how much it will cost – prices don't start at $5,500.

2. A 'full-custom' Jones is now available, just for you, the 'ONE' that started it all – with my design and Merlin's meticulous production you can have the exact bike for you.

Prices
For a long time now my 'price' has been $5,500 for a Ti spaceframe frameset but I'm not sure enough people have realized that this is for a fully assembled and prep'ed frame, truss fork, with the headset assembly, EBB, seatpost and the seatpost binder, so comparisons with 'normal' bikes aren't as easy as they might be. That 'starting price' would be less for those customers wanting only the very minimum; a Jones steel frame and fork, for example is going to work out at less than $2,450 and Jones' products like H-bars, a Fat Fork, a Fat wheel or a wheelset are much less.

The other thing I should explain is that I'm happy to sell individually any of the components and accessories that come with my bicycles – you don't have to buy a Jones bicycle or frameset to qualify. It makes sense for me to sell what I can recognizing the varying needs of my customers. So, whether it's a Fat Fork, Boone cog, six-speed cassette or a complete Jones bicycle you are wanting do check these pages and contact me to discuss things.

Examples; Ti frameset, steel frame and Ti truss fork, steel frame and fat fork, H-bars, fat wheels, Paul Comp hubs, Boone cogs, single-speed chainsets, six-speed cassettes, Thomson seatposts and stems, etc, etc. A fair collection of possibilities then, from basic to boundless – as ever, pure bicycle, serious fun.

Full-Custom Jones'
My relationship with Merlin is going very well – it's very much a case of a partnership greater than the sums of its parts – and as a result I'm delighted to be able to offer full-custom Jones bikes. All of my design skills, the celebrated Jones geometry and ride, applied to your unique riding and desires, with the frame and forks expertly crafted by the experts at Merlin. It's the best of both worlds – I'll do everything I have always done when building a single bike for a specific person, discussing your dimensions, your riding, your cycling psyche (!) and Merlin will turn the dream (and the precise specifications) into reality.

If you want to know more do call me, we can discuss things. There'll be more information available on my custom page as soon as I can get it there. OK, announcement over, back to the shop...

Light mount for truss fork
light mount for truss forkThis mount (mouseover image to see an alternative view) is to use with Light & Motion lighting systems. The light is securely mounted on the horizontal truss of the Jones fork. It sits low (and protected) over the front tire (and leaves your handlebars uncluttered). It is light, rigid, simple and provides an excellent beam angle. With a modification this mount will also accomodate a USE light so do ask me about this. And polished finish is also possible.

Finish: black ano, silver ano, polished
Options: Can be supplied with a lighting system
Price: $45
Availability: in stock (9th Feb 2009)

6 speed modified XT cassette
