The Jones LWB HD/e Class 2 e-bike with BBSHD Motor for Road, Gravel, Mountain, Tour, City, and More!
Built up with a heavy duty frame, strong wheels, quality motors, select components, and easy to use electronics, the Jones LWB HD/e complete bikes are for riding fast, slow, the rough with the smooth; safely, aggressively, laid-back or raging; with a big load or stripped to the bare essentials; on road, dirt, mud, snow; in the mountains, on the flat lands, around town or across the county; around the world or your local loop; for getting rad or just getting away. The high performance, heavy duty electric bicycle that is efficient and comfortable.
A Jones electric bicycle is great for all kinds of riding, on-road and off, touring, gravel, commuting, bikepacking, technical trails, loaded or unloaded. The frames and forks are designed together (a frameset) so they work together to deliver a great handling bike. Jones Geometry. You are perfectly positioned (balanced) between the wheels. You sit back and upright, with less weight on your arms and your head up – the position is natural and very comfortable. They don’t ‘fit’ like ‘normal bikes’ – they really fit!
The Jones LWB HD/e frameset can be built into a highly versatile and rugged bike or e-bike with a great ride that is efficient, comfortable, and as good in city streets as it is out on rough and technical terrain, and everything in between!
We offer this frameset, built up into complete bicycles and e-bikes. This frameset does not have any extra brackets or mounts that make it an e-bike frame. It does, however, have enough clearance for a motor as well as being made stiff and strong enough to handle a heavier rider, motor, and/or lots of cargo.

Jones Spec. 36 hole, 150 mm x 15 mm thru axle hub with sealed cartridge bearings. Canted flanges angle the spokes in toward the spoke holes in the rim, and the wide and even flange spacing makes for an extremely strong and stiff wheel. Cutaways in the flanges and relief inside the hub keep weight to a minimum, making this the perfect center for a super stiff, super strong wheel. |
Jones Spec. HD/e 36 hole, 148 mm x 12 mm Boost hub. Sealed Cartridge Bearings. Black. Like the front hub, this is a simple, durable hub. The axle and Shimano HG driver body are both made from chromoly steel for maximum stiffness and durability. The 4 freehub pawls and the ratchet teeth are larger than what’s found in most hubs adding to the overall strength. The distance you can ride an e-bike on a full battery charge varies greatly depending on several variables.
Here are some tips on how to increase the range of your e-bike. It's just like trying to get better mileage in a car by driving in a way where you conserve energy. Driving real smooth with easy accelerations and not speeding will increase your mileage.
- Pedal to help the motor as much as you can.
- Pedal at a higher cadence.
- Use a lower power level when possible, especially at lower speeds.
- Pedal only when starting out, power level 0. Then increase power assist once moving.
- Don’t use power on downhills.
Here are the stats from some of the rides we've done. Some riders are stronger than others and individual results will vary:
10.4 Ah battery: 22 miles, 3500 vertical feet, 3 hours of riding
17.5 Ah battery: 30 miles, 5000 vertical feet, 4 hours of riding
