My name is Jeff Jones. I'm a cyclist committed to the non-suspended bicycle. The reinforcement plate creates a wide, stiff platform to better support the the battery. The aluminum plate is slotted and works with the water bottle bolt bosses on the bikes downtube. The stable and secure battery mount reduces shaking and fatigue on other parts. This is the same plate that comes on the Jones Plus LWB HD/e bikes. May work with other battery packs.
